The practice of pranayama involves breathing exercises and patterns. You purposely inhale, exhale, and hold your breath in a specific sequence. In yoga, pranayama is used with other practices like physical postures (asanas) and meditation.
There are many different ways to breath in order to relieve stress, lose weight and help you go into a deeper state of relaxation.
Regular practice purifies the body and calms the mind leading to experiences of deep meditation, peace and vitality.
