This workshop supports good intelligent adjustments, which is now called assisting the student to address what they need to be aware of or adjust in their practice.

Safe and intelligent adjustments should always begin with a good experience of actually doing the pose, followed by an understanding of what the intention or quality of the pose is.

  • Knowing anatomy and function of joints helps us to understand more clearly what physical aspects of the person’s body are allowing or restricting the ability to do a pose.
  • The adjustment then delivers the feedback of what is observed so that the student can further explore the pose and its physical, energetic, mental or psycho-spiritual aspects.
  • Why do we do an adjustment in the first place?
  • What makes a good adjustment?
  • Where do we need length or space in the Body or breath
  • Learn to use the variety of tools (body parts) that you have available
  • Use your own weight, good body mechanics to both feel and keep you safe
  • Build confidence through different exercises and practice
  • Play with the balance between the student working and you working
INSTRUCTOR: Wendy Santiago Wendy is the owner of Wendy Fit Yoga, Pilates and Personal Training Studio in Dunedin Florida. She has been teaching yoga since the early 80’s and became Pilates Apparatus and Mat certified in 1995. Since then, Wendy has been a Yoga and Pilates instructor in a number of boutique studios and health clubs throughout the Tampa Bay area until she opened her own studio in 2005.  Wendy is a Yoga Alliance certified 500 hour E-RYT yoga instructor. Wendy’s specialty is doing creative sequences during her yoga practice. It may have come from the years of dance and choreography but it will be fun. This workshop is designed for all levels.
