Kelly Board

Kelly’s passion for Pilates practice began in Michigan when she joined her 1st Pilates Mat class at small local facility.  After the 1st class she knew she found her passion and continued taking classes in mat, reformer and tower.  Feeling better than she ever had she knew she had found her passion.

Kelly’s love of the Pilates practice and fitness started in her early twenties. She recognized she was overweight and developing bad health habits.  Her motivation and determination to live a healthier lifestyle lead her to to exercise and eating healthy.

Background

Spending several years in mortgage finance, her passion for health grew stronger and in 2007 she returned to school and obtained her  Associates Degree in Nursing. Kelly began as an RN working in Emergency/Trauma  in Michigan hospitals including University Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. She received her Bachelors in Nursing in 2012 and Masters Degree in 2016. Kelly now works as a primary care geriatric NP caring for all ages, acute and chronic illnesses.

Nursing and Pilates Practice

Her passion for health and fitness grew stronger as she cared for patients who were experiencing chronic pain due to living a sedentary lifestyle. They lacked nutrition, exercise and movement. Watching Pilates change the lives of so many by building strength, improving flexibility and reducing chronic pain inspired her to get certified in Mat and Reformer at Wendy Fit Studio.

Kelly believes one of the biggest benefits of the Pilates practice is its emphasis on core strength and body control.  To build a strong foundation and learn to stabilize from the inside out are principles that can be applied in Pilates, other workouts and daily life.

Kelly’s knowledge of nursing and Pilates practice helps her understand that the body cannot go where the mind has not been. Her commitment will help clients reach their fitness goals and discover the benefits of Pilates.

Clients can expect a thorough yet fun approach to their practice while they improve body awareness, confidence, and strength.

Kelly works with clients privately and in groups.
