Introduction to the Energetic Body

In this workshop you will become familiar with your energetic body. We will go over the energy centers according to Yogic Philosophy. This overview will include the Chakra system that exists in every one of us…its location, qualities, and how the chakras are intimately connected to your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.  You will learn the Nadis (Channels), Prana, and  how to harness your energy and also learn how energy affects you and your body systems. The workshop will also include a flowing asana practice focused on the activation of the Chakra system.  Then Amy will guide you through a Reiki healing meditation that connects you to the Chakras and heals imbalances and blockages.

What is Prana?  A deep exploration of the subtle energy body and the prana system that moves within it.  You will learn more about the energetic anatomy system and learn to sense the subtle energy field, or prana body. We will also explore ways to work with the flow of prana in the body through a slow and gentle asana practice, mudras, massage techniques, and a guided meditation with Reiki healing.

What are the Chakras? Energy Centers within the body and the bodily systems. Chakra means spinning wheel, and there are at least 7 in the body! Each center is associated with a color, bodily and mental function, emotion, sound and asana. We will dive deep into the feelings of each chakra through movement by the Alexander Method
